Children and Youth Program
Children from kindergarten to grade 8 attend Sunday school classes following the Gospel. Light curriculum. During the summer or on special holidays, children gather after children’s time to watch a Bible-based video instead of Sunday school classes. A service just for the children & youth is held four times per year.
Youth Group is teenage Christians who live God’s Word in fellowship and fun, while they explore the Good News of the Bible, planning mission projects and leading worship services. The Youth Group meets following the Sunday worship service.
Every year, youth and children raise funds for a mission project. Fundraisers are a walk-a-thon in October and a chilli lunch in February.
Older Youth contribute to the Church life by hosting Coffee Hour twice a year, reading scripture during worship services, providing sound during the worship service and caring for toddlers during worship services. Youth & children lead worship in the Christmas Pageant and the Youth Service in June.
Bible studies are led by the minister or by members of our congregation. Check out the bulletin or the coming events calendar for the next Bible Study. All are welcome.
Young Adults Group
We are between the ages of 20 – 40 and we meet every second Sunday of the month in the Goforth Room after the worship service for a 45-minute time of devotions, prayer and praise. Toddler and children care is provided. You are most welcome to join us; please contact the church office.
Afternoon Circle of the Goforth Guild
We meet monthly in the Goforth Room on the first or second Wednesday at 1:30 pm, except during the summer. Our meetings include devotions and a short program followed by afternoon tea. We support the Women’s Missionary Society as well as community outreach agencies: The Mission, High Horizons and Inner City Missions. All members of the congregation are welcome to attend; contact the church office.
We meet about in the main hall 4 times a year on a Saturday morning at 8am for a delicious breakfast and a time of fellowship. We are inspired by our guest speakers who share their faith journey. All men of the congregation and their friends are welcome. Check out the bulletin or coming events calendar for the next Men’s Breakfast.
Afternoon Craft Group
We are a group of dedicated knitters, sewers, and craftspeople meeting in the Goforth Room every Monday at 2pm from September to June. We have fun together as we are plying our crafts and enjoying a cup of tea. New members are very welcome; please contact the church office.
JOY is an acronym for JUST OVER YOUTH. It is a day time program which provides an opportunity for adults in our congregation to get together for fun and fellowship. Between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, you might find a group of people enjoying a game of scrabble, playing cards or other interesting activities. At noon we all join together for lunch prepared and served by your coordinators. The JOY Group meets in the Goforth Room the third Tuesday of each month and members of the congregation and their friends are welcome.
We provide occasions for our congregation to socialise, to meet newcomers and to maintain friendships. Each month, except in July and August, there are events planned so that the congregation can come together in fellowship and fun.
