Mission & Outreach

MISSION

Heron Emergency Food Centre

As a founding member of the Heron Emergency Food Centre, St Timothy’s has supported HEFC since its inception. We donate to Reverse Offering food drives, two Youth Mission projects and maintain a vegetable garden to provide fresh produce to the food centre.

Christmas Hampers

In collaboration with Wilson’s Your Independent Grocers, St Timothy’s purchases food hampers containing all the fixings needed for a Christmas supper celebration. The food hampers are delivered by Caring and Sharing.

The Ottawa Mission Basket

In December, the congregation collects and donates men’s toiletries, socks, underwear, hats and gloves for the Ottawa Mission.

OUTREACH

Café Connections

This weekly Friday morning gathering over coffee or tea is an opportunity for people to gather in fellowship in a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. Our motto is “A little bit of coffee & a lot of love”. Cafe Connections is on zoom on Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. On the second Friday of the month, the gathering is held in the GoForth room from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. An email is sent to the congregation Thursday morning with the zoom link. Everyone is welcome !

Community Gardens

Nine vegetable garden plots are are maintained on the front lawn of our church. Eight of the plots are let to members of the congregation or the community. The ninth plot is tended by volunteers with the produce donated to the Heron Emergency Food Centre.
